Shian Jia
Dr. Shian Jia joined CAT as a Research Associate in May 2016. He received his B.S. degree at Department of Materials Science and Engineering, Tsinghua University, Beijing, China, in 2011. Then he came to United States and obtained his M.S. and Ph.D. degrees at Department of Metallurgical and Materials Engineering, University of Alabama, in 2013 and 2015, respectively. During his graduate study, he focused on developing novel processing method (Ultrasonic Cavitation Processing) to fabricate Al-based nanocomposites for high performance applications. He worked at Secat, Inc as a Materials Engineer before joining CAT.
His works include product evaluation as well as process development and failure analysis focused mainly on aluminium casting, heat treating, rolling, extruding and can making.
